Our Approach
Onboarding
We work alongside investors and owners to develop the right investment thesis to grow your portfolio or business, we underwrite this process by profiling industries, screening targets, and devising and executing a comprehensive investment plan.
Due Diligence
We help investors make better decisions by performing due diligence on entities and associated principals. We don’t work with anyone who has demonstrated a history of impropriety or dishonesty. Building a due diligence file containing formation documents, financials, organizational charts, bios, capitalization tables, and stockholder agreements, among other documents, is absolutely necessary. If you’re a bad actor, we definitely don’t want to work with you.
Value Creation
We support the pursuit of rapid returns by planning for success. That means developing a detailed strategic roadmap with timelines and associated responsibilities. We accomplish this goal by leading brainstorming sessions based on principles learned over a long history of successful outcomes. When this stage is completed, we are ready to execute your individual plan of action.
Exit Planning
Do you want to go public, spin off, carve out, retire from your company, or sell to a PE firm? We help you answer these questions by identifying the benefits and costs associated with each transaction so you can make a more informed decision. We help ensure that investors maximize returns by preparing for exit, identifying the optimal exit strategy, preparing the selling documents, and executing the transaction with our lawyers.
Firm and Sector Strategy
Working jointly with investors and clients, we help develop a strategy based on their specific business model. A CPG company operates much differently than a SaaS business, for example. We take these factors into account and proceed accordingly based on deep industry experience. This benefits you because we know what works and what doesn’t so we don’t waste any time on failures.
Investment Strategy
We work with investors and clients to develop top-performing investment programs, which include both qualitative and quantitative value-creation strategies. This aspect sets us apart from other investment firms. Consider this, an investment without sales is of marginal value, eventually, the money will run out. Invested capital is much more productive with key people involved. Cornerstone relationships can increase the productivity of dollars invested by introducing new investors, distributors, and marketing programs, for example.
